EBTEC’s HVOF thermal spray coatings provide a high-density, soundly bonded surface treatment used to extend hardware or component life by significantly increasing erosion and wear resistance as well as corrosion protection.

Because the high velocity thermal spray is semi-molten, materials such as metals, alloys or ceramics can be applied in coating thicknesses ranging from 0.002 to 0.020 inches (50 to 500 µm) to produce a smooth, exceptionally hard, and/or wear resistant surface that can optionally be ground, lapped and finished.

Choice of coatings including tungsten carbide, chrome carbide, nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, ceramics and various carbon and stainless steels.
Higher density (lower porosity) coatings due to greater particle impact velocities.

In some applications, lower cost compared to other thermal spray methods.

Better wear resistance as a result of harder, tougher coatings.
Lower compressive stress resulting in thicker coatings being able to be applied.
Higher strength bond to the underlying substrate and improved cohesive strength within the coating.
Smoother as-sprayed surface due to higher-impact velocities and smaller powder sizes.
Equal or better corrosion resistance than electroless nickel coatings.
Coatings are denser as well as smoother due to the impact velocity.
